Many people think it is unusual for a drummer to be building amps and guitars, but when it comes to that fact, Daniel considers himself in good company. Daniel Margasa has been a pro touring drummer for over 20 years. He has shared the stage with the likes of Fuel, Sublime, Deep Purple and many more..
Over the years, Daniel has also made a name for himself as a studio performer and producer. It is that aspect of his career that led him to starting Margasa Amps.
“I was always searching for a pure tone in an amp; tone that was not cluttered and unclouded from typical tube amp noise and tonal coloration. I wanted to build a pure, clean tonal platform that still had the qualities of a great sounding vintage circuit.”
Daniel used his experience with electronics and guitar building/repair to design the first Lady Deadlock circuit in 2009. By 2010 he had the first Lady and Baby Deadlock Amps in production and for sale at guitar trade shows across the country, including making huge debuts at both the L.A. And N.Y. Amp Shows.
Today Daniel has expanded the Margasa line to include his signature guitars, as well as his custom H-13 line. He has launched a line of premium, unsurpassed amp power cables, the Rosebraid and Ribbonstone. Most recently he designed an entire line of vintage inspired hand built pickups. Models include the Margasa 59, the Vintage Modern and The Hurricane. All products are hand built in the USA with an emphasis on originality and quality.
Daniel currently builds approximately 10-20 amps per year and about a dozen custom guitars from his studio island shop in Maine.
